ピーマンのご飯詰め
ゼイティンヤール ビベル ドルマス
トルコ語
Zeytinyağlı biber dolması 英語 Filled Paprika in olive oil
Description
Green peppers are opened at top and their inside is
emptied. The filling is prepared. It contains rice and interesting spices, for example raisins.
Then Green Pepper's are filled and cooked in water.
After cooking, one puts all filled Green Pepper's into a beautiful deep plate. The plate should be
beautiful because it will be used for serving. It will not be finished at one meal. They are served
cold. If available at home, one can also use
tomatoes, zucchinis and dried eggplants for stuffing, together with green peppers.
Fresh light summer taste
The
taste should be fresh and light. It should remind of raisins, dried fruits, and nuts. The olive oil makes the taste even fresher.
I ate some
type of onigiris with a similar taste. One could call this dish as Green Pepper Onigiri, isn't it?
Turkish tea spoon
A small tea spoon can be very helpful, for
opening the green peppers, for emptying their seeds and for filling them. It should
be a really small spoon, about the size of your thumb. For example a Turkish tea
spoon.
The joy of cooking
In Turkey, Stuffed Green Pepper in olive oil is cooked for the joy of
cooking. Is not a main course. Brings some color to the table. Is cooked often because we like the
taste and the beautiful appearance. They are
brought to the table as a side meal, similar to a salad. There are many Turkish dishes which are
served as additional optional dishes. We put them to the table during a meal and if anyone wants
they can take some. If they do not take, we remind them to take some.
Cold
This dish is eaten cold. This means room
temperature. A little colder is also ok. One can bring it directly from the
refrigerator to the table, but it should not be as cold as ice cream.
